Terms of Service

Who can use it

You need to be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to agree to these terms. If you are under 18, you should have a parent or guardian’s permission.

Your account

Signing in with Apple is optional, and exists so your Personal Code survives a lost or replaced phone. You are responsible for keeping access to your Apple ID secure. If you never sign in, your data lives only on your device — if you delete the app, it goes with it, and we cannot recover it.

The free trial and subscription

Hold True is free for seven days with every feature unlocked. We remind you before the trial ends. After the trial, a subscription costs $39.99 per year.

Subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through the App Store. They renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, which you do in your Apple account settings, not here. We cannot cancel or refund an Apple subscription on your behalf — refunds are at Apple’s discretion.

If a subscription lapses, your Personal Code is not deleted. It stays saved, and you can still export it. Reading, editing, and checking in pause until you resubscribe.

What you write is yours

You own everything you write in Hold True: your answers, your principles, your check-ins. You keep that ownership.

You give us only the permission we need to run the service for you — to store your writing, send it for AI processing to generate your code, display it back to you, and back it up if you have signed in. We claim no right to publish it, sell it, or use it to promote Hold True.

About generated principles

Your Personal Code is drafted by an AI model from what you wrote. It may occasionally produce something that does not fit, reads awkwardly, or misses your meaning. That is why every principle is editable and removable, and why you can write your own from scratch.

The principles are suggestions for your consideration, not instructions, professional guidance, or promises about outcomes.

Fair use

Do not use Hold True to break the law, to harass anyone, or to attempt to access other people’s data. Do not try to reverse-engineer the app, resell it, or use it to build a competing service. We may suspend accounts that do these things.

Availability

We aim to keep Hold True working, but we do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may add or remove them over time. If we ever have to shut the service down, we will give you notice and time to export everything you have written.

Disclaimers

Hold True is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind beyond those the law requires and does not allow us to exclude. We do not warrant that it will meet a particular goal, change a particular behaviour, or produce a particular result.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Ackee & Software Limited is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of Hold True. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending it

You can stop using Hold True at any time, and delete your account from Settings. Deletion is permanent. We may end your access if you break these terms, or if we discontinue the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be handled by the courts there. Nothing here removes consumer rights you have under the law where you live.

Changes to these terms

If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Hold True after that means you accept the revised terms.
